The Rational Life
This Chinese drama received many praises when it first aired in China via Mango TV. Starring Qin Lan (formerly from “Story of YanXi Palace”), Dylan Wang (who played Daoming Si in “Meteor Garden”), and Calvin Li, the new drama series explore the life of an office lady — who is in her mid-30s and is otherwise known as a “leftover woman” — standing up to the unfair practices in the workplace. Coincidentally, her assistant (played by Wang) and her boss (played by Li) are also wooing her. Who will she pick?
The Rational Life will be available on Netflix now.

Never Have I Ever: Season 2

Yes, the star heroine of this coming-of-age comedy series has two hot guys vying for her attention. What could go wrong, right?

Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop
There’s much to love about this vibrant anime film. From the creator who brought the acclaimed “Your Lie in April”, this new animated romance film sees Cherry (a young boy who expresses himself using haiku) and Smile (a bubbly, but self-conscious film) coming together and sharing a magical summer together. Without revealing too much, its trailer shows glimpses of the vibrant animation style, with gorgeous views of idyllic countryside and more. If anything, this Netflix Original Anime Film has a feel-good vibe to it, similar to Studio Ghibli’s.
Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop will be available on Netflix from 22 July 2021.
The Last Mercenary
It’s been a while since we have seen action star Jean-Claude Van Damme, and fans will be glad to see him return to the silver screen in his first on-screen leading role since “We Die Young (2009)”. In “The Last Mercenary”, a mysterious secret agent who has been denounced by his government must return to France when his son becomes framed by an international terrorist organization. The action-comedy stars Alban Ivanov, Archibald Al Mohamoud, Assa Sylla and more. What genre will the film take? It’s action-comedy, so be prepared for some hilarious blunders added to the mix!
The Last Mercenary will be available on Netflix from 30 July 2021.
