5 New Shows & Films To Catch On Netflix in February 2021

A long holiday beckons as Chinese New Year falls a few days before the weekend in February. Besides that, many of us will also be celebrating Valentine’s Day shortly after that! With state regulations forbidding Chinese families from visiting more than one households during Chinese New Year, most of us are essentially going to be “bored” to death from the lack of activities to do. Fortunately, we have our favourite TV streaming platform to keep us entertained with its arsenal of cool and new shows or films to catch!

From Song Joong-Ki to Kim Tae-Ri, Rosamund Pike to Lana Condor, check out the new shows that will be streaming on Netflix, from February 2021. 

Space Sweepers 

The upcoming South Korean sci-fi film, “Space Sweepers” stars Song Joong-ki, Kim Tae-ri, Ji Seon-kyu, and Yoo Hae-ji. In “Space Sweepers”, Song plays a space pilot while Kim plays a ex-space pirate. Together, they lead a crew of space scavengers and chase after space debris for profiting. It wasn’t until when the team scavenged a humanoid robot, who happens to be a wanted creature by the UTS Space Guards, that they decided to demand ransom for even more profits.   

This big-budget action film was supposed to be released last year during the blockbuster season but due to COVID-19, that never happened. Instead, Netflix acquired the worldwide streaming right. The film was directed by acclaimed South Korean director, Jo Sung-hee, and produced by Bidangil Pictures. 

Space Sweepers will be available on Netflix on 5 February 2021. 

Squared Love

Another show to catch on Valentine’s Day, this Polish rom-com sees an established journalist, who happens to be a notorious womaniser, rethinking his questionable lifestyle after falling in love with a model, who leads a double life. 

Squared Love will be available on Netflix on 11 February 2021. 

To All The Boys: Always And Forever

Just in time for Valentine’s Day! Netflix’s believed “To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before” franchise will be concluding with its third and final film. Starring Lana Condor and Noah Centineo as Lara Jean and Peter Kavinsky respectively, the third film will be set in Lara’s final year in high school, which she prepares to be an adult, decides college, and makes larger decisions — which might or might not involve leaving his boyfriend. 

To All The Boys: Always And Forever will be available on Netflix on 12 February 2021. 

I Care A Lot

Starring Rosamund Pike, Peter Dinklage and Dianne Wiest, “I Care A Lot” is a film about a legal guardian who drains the savings of the elderly through legal means. She meets her match with her latest victim, Fran. With ties to the mafia, her latest victim, however, isn’t backing down without a fight.  

I Care A Lot will be available on Netflix on 19 February 2021. 

Crazy About Her 

In this Spanish comedy, Adri has a crazy one-night stand with Carla. Infatuated with her, he soon realises the only to see her again and possibly court her is to admit himself as a patient at a psychiatric center, which she resides.

Crazy About Love will be available on Netflix on 26 February 2021.
