The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

In what seems like a promising and captivating series on one of our favourite TV streaming services, Netflix is cancelling our favourite teenage witch drama. Season 4 marks the series finale of The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, which stars Kiernan Shipka, Gavin Leatherwood, Ross Lynch, Jaz Sinclair, Lachlan Watson, Miranda Otto and more. The earlier three seasons have been quite the ride. From Sabrina’s reluctance to partake in her Dark Baptism (a ceremonial passage for coming-of-age witches to devote themselves to The Dark Lord) to her battles against the Lucifer Morningstar and eventually, against a rival Pagan clan of practitioners, the half-witch/half-mortal always seem to land herself in someone supernatural ordeal and having her needing to save the day. The last season will pit our teenage witch and her allies (comprising both mortals and witches) against the series’ recurring villian Fautus Blackwood (played by Richard Coyle) and the Eldritch terrors.

The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is now on Netflix.

Riverdale: Season 5

Riverdale returns for a fifth season, and this time the teenagers from Riverdale highschool explore even more mysteries in the murder-laden town. The previous season was unfortunately cut short due to the coronavirus pandemic, which put a halt on filming. But don’t worry, this upcoming season will continue from where it ended off and will progress from the teenagers’ high-school graduation. Oh yes, there is also a seven-year time jump which sees the Archie and gang completing college and in the mid-20s.

Riverdale: Season 5 will be available on Netflix on January 21, 2021.

Fate: The Winx Club Saga

Most of us are familiar with this. After all, Bloom and her fairy friends used to grace our TV screens when Kids Central was still a thing in Singapore. From the trailer, the live-action adaptation is bridled with mysteries and magic, and not surprisingly, there have been much displeasure about it too. In “Fate: The Winx Club Saga”, creator Brian Young, who had cut his teeth with supernatural teenage drama The Vampire Diaries, will put a darker twist to the Nickelodeon cartoon series. I’m sure we are in good hands and this is one thing many are all excited about.

Fate: The Winx Club Saga will be available on Netflix on 22 January 2021.

Snowpiercer Season 2

The post-apocalyptic drama which sees the world as a frozen wasteland returns for a second season. In this new season, a new power struggle develops between Andre Layton (played by Daveed Diggs) and Mr. Wilford (played by Sean Bean) within the Snowpiercer, a huge, always moving train that circles the globe while carrying survivors for the past years.

The series was given the season two green light before its first season was aired on Netflix.

Snowpiercer Season 2 will be available on Netflix on 26 January 2021.

The Dig

The year was 1938, and World War II was looming around the corner. Edith Pretty (played by Carey Mulligan), a rich widow from Sutton Hoo, enlists an amateur archaeologist Basil Brown (played by Ralph Fiennes) to excavate the burial mounds on her estate. The film is a dramatic adaptation of the historical novel of the same name by English journalist and novelist John Preston.

The Dig will be available on Netflix on 29 January 2021.

Cobra Kai: Season 3

Following the violent highschool brawl which lands the protagonist Miguel Diaz (played by Xolo Maridueña) in a coma and temporary paralysis on his legs, the third season explores the power struggle between instructor Johnny Lawrence (played by William Zabka, the same actor who portrayed the same character in the 1984 prequel “The Karate Kid”) and his former sensei John Kreese (played by Martin Kove).

Cobra Kai: Season 3 will be available on Netflix in January 2021.
