8 New Shows & Films To Catch on Netflix in March 2021

From March 2021 onwards, our favourite TV streaming service Netflix will host a slew of new shows, films and documentaries. From an Italian-Korean mafia-drama series starring Song Joong-ki to a documentary series on Audrey Hepburn, there is something for everyone to catch. 

So whether you are hosting a party to celebrate International Women’s Day with your girl pals or just looking for a new show to binge on, we have got you covered!

Vincenzo

Starring Song Joong-ki, Ok Taec-yeon and Jeon Yeo-been, “Vincenzo” is a brand-new South Korean crime-mafia drama series. Here, Joong-ki plays Vincenzo Cassano, an Italian lawyer and Mafia consigliere of South Korean descent, who has been adopted by an Italian mafia family. Due to a conflict in the mafia organisation, Vincenzo returns to South Korea and he winds up getting involved with South Korean sharp-tongued attorney Hong Cha-Young (played by Jeon) and her intern Jang Joon Won (played by 2PM’s Taec-yeon). Together, the trio bands together to take down villains in court.    

Vincenzo is now streaming on Netflix. 

Sisyphus: The Myth

Starring Park Shin-hye and Cho Seung-woo, the explosive new South Korean drama “Sisyphus: The Myth” tells the tale of a genius engineer, Han Tae-sul (played by Cho), who attempts to dig out the truth behind his brother’s death. He receives assistance from a kickass fighter, Kang Seo-hae (played by Park), who has travelled back in time from the future. 

Sisyphus is now streaming on Netflix. 

Moxie

Directed by Golden Globe Award-winning actress Amy Poehler, “Moxie” is a coming-of-age film on how a teenager (played by Hadley Robinson) follows her mother’s (played by Amy Poehler) footsteps to stem out rampant gender inequality in school. The film is based on Jennifer Mathieu’s novel of the same name.   

Moxie will be available on Netflix from 3 March 2021. 

The One

How would you know if you have found the perfect partner or soulmate? The upcoming 8-episode Netflix series “The One” seems to hold the answer. From the creator of the well-renowned British series “Misfits” Howard Overman, this ‘soulmate science fiction’ Netflix series sees female protagonist and scientist Rebecca (played by “Hitman: Agent 47” ’s Hannah Ware) designing a DNA test that can uncover who you are genetically compatible with around the world. As she seeks to create a new matchmaking service, chaos and confusion ensue.  

The One will be available on Netflix from 12 March 2021. 

YES DAY

As parents who often had to reject their kids’ many requests, Allison and Carlos decided to give in and take their kids on an unconventional day out, where they can only say “Yes!” to everything and anything. And this brings them on a whirlwind adventure across the city of Los Angeles. The light-hearted family-friendly film stars Jennifer Garner, Edgar Ramirez, Jenna Ortega, Julian Lerner, and Everly Carganilla.

YES DAY will be available on Netflix from 12 March 2021. 

Navillera

Netflix, Ballet

This South Korean drama is about chasing dreams. A 70-year-old retired mailman, Shim Deok Chul, decides to take the leap of faith to learn ballet, much to his family’s displeasure. He enrolls in a dance academy where he meets a 23-year-old dancer, Lee Chae Rok, who became interested in ballet following several sports try-outs. The young ballet dancer’s late-mother was once a ballet dancer herself, but he struggles financially until he meets Deok Chu. 

Navillera will be available on Netflix from 24 March 2021. 

DOTA: Dragon’s Blood

From raking in millions of bucks from its extensive global fan base annually to hosting riveting and fully-packed international tournaments, DOTA 2 (or Defense of the Ancients 2) is undoubtedly one of the most popular games there is. This year, fans will see a brand new animated series on Netflix too. Titled “DOTA: Dragon’s Blood”, the fantasy and action series promises fans a new perspective on the DOTA universe, way beyond its cinematics. You’d be glad to hear that the stunning animation is created by Studio Mir, the studio who animated “The Legend of Korra”. 

DOTA: Dragon’s Blood will be available on Netflix from 25 March 2021.

The Irregulars 

If you are a fan of crime and mystery, the brand new Netflix series, “The Irregulars”, is certain to pique your interest. Set in the Victorian era, the much-anticipated British crime drama series sees a crew of misfits helping Dr. Watson solve a string of supernatural crimes in London. 

The Irregulars will be available on Netflix from 26 March 2021.
