Exaggerated Shoulders & Puffy Sleeves

Tropical humidity, scorching sun, and blazing days aside, trends for Spring might just be one of my favourites to don in our year-long Summer climate. The easiest way to turn your outfit from basic to off-the-runway? Exaggerated shoulder silhouettes.

I’m talking about puffy, billowy sleeves with a fitted bodice. They look great on any body type, and they also feel breezy with just the right amount of coverage. After a little bit of sleuthing and a lot of window shopping, here is a top you may want to add into your daily rotation.

Anti-Neutral Colours

I’ll be the first to say it: I’m sick of neutral colours. All beige, brown, and white everything? Count me out. This Spring, I’m going full-on maximalist and I’m leaving neutrals in the dust.

Anti-neutral colours might not be the most groundbreaking trend for Spring, but it definitely makes the most sense. This colour trend was spotted everywhere on the Spring/Summer 2021 runways and it has already entered the wardrobes of many. Get an outfit that people can spot from a mile away and leave a fashion impression they’ll never forget. Or at least, unsee.

Platform, everything?

Guess who’s back, back again? Platforms are back, so tell a friend!

Old-school Eminem lyrics aside, I can’t believe we’re finally giving platforms & flip flops new life with this unexpected comeback happening all over the runways. With Instagram It Girls donning platform flip flops from left to right, it’s hard not to want one for yourself too. The fact that platform flip flops are proving to be the most versatile item in my closet and I get to show off my new pedicure are very convincing reasons why everyone should get a pair.

Try one, and you might never feel the tight hug of a sneaker again.

The Tiny-bag, yet again.

We love a good tiny-bag moment, but even more so since it’s been almost a year and this runway trend is going stronger than ever. If your newest tiny-bag only fits your lipstick, keys, and barely anything else with no room left, you’re doing the tiny-bag trend right.

All jokes aside, we’re seeing tiny-bags all over the runways for Spring yet again and just like the fashion world, I’m not ready to let it go. Get on the tinybag bandwagon and watch as it takes any plain-old outfit from eh to “Hey babe, where did you get your bag from?”

If it’s tiny, sits on my shoulder comfortably, and comes with extra thick straps, I’ll cart it out no questions asked. What about you?
